Premier League walk-out songs: Music for every team listed

From You'll Never Walk Alone to Blue Moon, the Premier League is packed with walk-out songs that electrify the crowd and set the stage for kickoff.

Football and music are inseparable, with songs serving as the soundtrack to a club’s identity. Whether it’s terrace chants passed down through generations, stadium DJs setting the mood before kickoff, or tunes adopted by supporters, music plays a crucial role in the matchday experience.

One of the sport's most cherished traditions is the walkout song—a track that sets the stage as the home side and their opponents emerge from the tunnel. More than just a pre-match ritual, the right song fuels the crowd’s passion and sends a message to the opposition. It’s the first thing visiting players hear as they step onto unfamiliar turf, so it needs to make an impact. That’s why clubs stick with signature tracks, ensuring the same charged atmosphere greets every kickoff.

The Premier League is home to some of the most iconic walkout anthems, with clubs like Manchester United, Liverpool, Chelsea, and Arsenal boasting tracks that resonate through the stands. However, not every team gets it right—some pre-match choices miss the mark.

From Manchester City's "Blue Moon" to Liverpool's "You'll Never Walk Alone," the league is full of songs that define a club's identity. GOAL has compiled a list of the walkout music for all 20 top-flight sides.

  • Liverpool | You'll Never Walk Alone | Gerry and the Peacemakers

One of football’s most legendary walkout songs, Gerry and the Pacemakers' rendition of You'll Never Walk Alone became synonymous with Liverpool in the 1960s. Its influence grew so strong that the club officially incorporated its title into their crest as their motto in 1992.

Read more about the You'll Never Walk Alone Liverpool FC chant here.

  • Arsenal | The Angel – North London Forever | Louis Dunford

has emerged as Arsenal’s go-to anthem in recent years. Although tracks like , Fatboy Slim's hits, and Eminem's music have featured in the pre-match buildup at the Emirates, Louis Dunford's tribute to the Gunners has taken center stage since its release in February 2022.

  • West Ham | I'm Forever Blowing Bubbles | John Kellette

Originally released in 1919 by American musician Ben Selvin, this classic tune found its way into West Ham’s identity between the 1920s and 1940s, cementing itself as one of English football’s most recognizable anthems. At the London Stadium, the song sets the stage for kickoff, accompanied by a spectacle of bubbles drifting across the pitch.

The tradition took hold after former manager Charlie Paynter introduced the song, and it has since become an inseparable part of the club's heritage.

  • Chelsea | Liquidator | Harry J Allstars

Many clubs across English football have adopted the instrumental track by Jamaican band Harry J Allstars for their pre-match walkouts, but Chelsea proudly claim to be the pioneers, having introduced it at Stamford Bridge back in 1969. Over the years, the tune has echoed through various stadiums, with clubs such as Wycombe Wanderers, West Bromwich Albion, Yeovil Town, and St. Johnstone also making it their own. However, it remains most closely associated with the west London giants.

Cesc 2.0: Arteta wants Arsenal to sign star with a "left foot made of gold"

Over the years, Arsenal have had some memorable Spanish players at the club. Of course, there are two in the current squad, goalkeeper David Raya and midfielder Mikel Merino who joined in the last transfer window. The pair were part of Spain’s Euro 2024 winning squad over the summer.

Of course, manager Mikel Arteta hails from Spain and made 150 appearances for the Gunners as a player back in the 2010s. Another classy Spanish midfielder to wear that famous Red shirt was Santo Cazorla, who played 180 times for the club.

Arsenal's ex player SantiCazorla

In recent days, the North Londoners have been linked with another highly-rated young Spanish star.

Arsenal target Spanish starlet

The player in question here is young Barcelona winger Arnau Pradas. The 18-year-old winger is highly thought of by the La Liga giants, who have produced so many top talents from their famous academy La Masia.

However, according to a report from Spanish news outlets, they are ‘close to seeing’ the young winger ‘pack his bags and head to Arsenal’, who are believed to be holding key talks with the winger. Pradas will become a free transfer in June, with his contract set to expire, and the Gunners could try and pounce on the deal.

The report states that Arteta himself has spoken to the player. He is believed to have been ‘reportedly convinced with a very interesting and almost irresistible economic and sporting proposal’ to persuade Pradas to make the move.

Arsenal’s next Cesc Fabregas

Should the North Londoners get a deal for the youngster over the line, it could be a repeat of the deal to sign Cesc Fabregas in September 2003. He made the move from the Nou Camp to Highbury as a teenager for a reported fee of £2.25m.

It is fair to say that the midfielder became an iconic figure at Arsenal. He played 303 games for the club in total, contributing to an impressive 152 goals in that time.

Although he was at the club during the invincible season of 2003/04, he did not make an appearance in the Premier League that season. However, Fabregas was part of the FA Cup winning side in 2004/05.

He departed the Gunners in 2011, making the move from North London back to Barcelona as a 24-year-old. His boyhood club paid £35m to resign the then-Gunners skipper, although he would later break Arsenal hearts by swapping the Nou Camp for Stamford Bridge to join Chelsea after his former club did not activate a buy-back clause.

If they manage to bring Pradas to the club next summer, the Gunners would no doubt be hoping he can take to the Premier League as quickly as Fabregas did.

He is a highly-rated player, who football talent scout Jacek Kulig thinks has a “left foot made of gold”, high praise indeed.

The winger has yet to make his first-team debut, playing mainly for Barca’s under-19s in the UEFA Youth League, where he has three goals and an assist in nine games.

That includes a fantastic performance against Bayern Munich under-19s this season. As per Sofascore, he created four chances, completed four dribbles and grabbed an assist that day.

To put into context just how good Pradas can become, he has previously been described as a “Lamine Yamal clone”, partly because they are both left-footed wingers.

The Spanish teenage sensation has risen to the top in recent months, becoming a key player for Barcelona. He has six goals and nine assists in just 18 games this term, aged just 17.

Arsenal fans must surely be excited at the prospect of signing Pradas this summer. Not only could he be their own Yamal, but if he can remotely replicate the success Fabregas had in that famous Red shirt, they will have an incredible talent on their hands.

It could be a superb addition for Arteta and his side.

'He's dragging that club through this dire moment' – Bruno Fernandes urged to leave Man Utd for a team than can 'win trophies' by Premier League legend because 'all he gets is stick'

Bruno Fernandes has been urged by Joe Cole to leave Manchester United for a team that can "win trophies" because "all he gets is stick".

  • WHAT HAPPENED?

The 29-year-old playmaker was instrumental in United’s recent 3-0 victory over Leicester City, scoring once and providing two assists. With his latest assist, Fernandes became just the sixth player in United’s history to register 50 in the Premier League, joining legends such as Ryan Giggs, Wayne Rooney, David Beckham, Paul Scholes, and Eric Cantona.

  • Getty Images Sport

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

Since arriving from Sporting CP in 2020, Fernandes has been one of the Premier League’s most consistent performers. He has scored 94 goals and provided 79 assists in 276 appearances across all competitions. However, while his individual stats are impressive, United’s inability to challenge for major honours has led Cole to urge the Portuguese to reconsider his future at Old Trafford.

  • WHAT COLE SAID

Speaking to Paddy Power, Cole said: "If I’m Bruno Fernandes, I’d absolutely be looking for a move away from Manchester United. He’s the first butterfly and he’s getting all the arrows from everyone. He must go home at night and wonder why everyone is digging him out when he’s the only one pulling his weight in this team.

“There are others doing okay but he is literally dragging that club through this dire moment. When all is said and done and Bruno leaves United and maybe they return to the top, they’ll look back at this era and the only shining light will be Bruno Fernandes."

  • DID YOU KNOW?

Cole further argued that despite Fernandes' relentless efforts, the criticism directed at him is unfair.

“He’s a fantastic footballer and you could put him into most teams, and he’d thrive, but I don’t think he’s won a league in his career and he needs to go and prove to himself that he can play in a top side because he’s run his race at Manchester United," he said.

“He should leave that club with everyone; the owners, fans and the manager giving him his flowers because he gets all the stick. And that’s part and parcel of being a Manchester United footballer but how must he feel when he’s getting all the pelters despite being the one with the goals, assists and driving the team forwards. He’s a fabulous player and if I was him, I’d be looking to go and play in a team capable of winning trophies.”

Man Utd refuse to rule out deal for "amazing" ace scouts saw play star role

As the winter window approaches, Manchester United are reportedly refusing to rule out a January move to sign an instant upgrade on Luke Shaw and one who just stole the show in front of their scouts in the Champions League.

Man Utd transfer news

If the last few weeks have exposed anything under the new reign of Ruben Amorim, it’s just how much Manchester United desperately need reinforcements once again. Despite spending big last summer, the Red Devils are in need of another rebuild under a new manager and entirely new system, with Matthijs de Ligt and Andre Onana proving exactly why in an eventual 2-1 victory over Viktoria Plzen in midweek.

Whilst the goalkeeper’s pass lacked pace, De Ligt was far from innocent in the error, with the Dutchman not exactly keen to receive such a pass despite Amorim’s clear instruction to play out from the back. With that said, the former Sporting Club boss will be desperate for January to arrive.

According to GiveMeSport, Manchester United are refusing to rule out a January move to sign Alvaro Fernandez after he was awarded the Man of the Match award in front of the Red Devils’ scouts in a midweek 0-0 draw between Benfica and Bologna in midweek.

Those at Old Trafford would even have the chance to land a bargain deal to re-sign their former youth player too, given that they reportedly have a buyback clause of just £16.5m – a far cheaper price than his current £42m release clause.

In many ways, re-signing a young player they regret allowing to leave just six months later would sum the chaos that is Manchester United up pretty perfectly, but it’s a move they’d be wise to make nonetheless.

"Amazing" Fernandez can earn Man Utd redemption

Although things didn’t quite work out for the young left-back last time out at Manchester United, the Red Devils could hand him an instant shot at redemption just months after his departure in the January transfer window. For the bargain price of just £16.5m too, Amorim would be getting a solution to his wing-back problem down the left-hand side and an instant upgrade on Shaw, who remains unreliable thanks to injury issues.

Luke Shaw

In truth, Fernandez’s rise is one that Manchester United should have seen coming. Football Talent Scout’s Jacek Kulig certainly never looked past his talent, however, describing his engine and quality as “amazing” when he was first making strides in the Red Devils’ youth side.

Still just 21 years old, Fernandez remains a Manchester United academy graduate to watch, especially if he does complete a return to Old Trafford in the near future.

The 29-year-old is out of contract this summer and amid mounting Arsenal transfer rumours, the England international has sent a message of sorts to the club's board to keep hold of the winger.

    WHAT HARRY KANE SAID

He told Bild: "It's obvious that I harmonize very well with him. He has great qualities and terrifying skills. It was a top game from him [against St. Pauli] and great to see how he converted his chances. He often gets into those positions and was ice-cold in front of goal, which is what we need."

On Sane's future, Kane added: "It's not my decision, but the club's. I really like playing with Leroy and would love for him to stay. But that's a discussion between him and the club."

  • THE BIGGER PICTURE

Sane is yet to sign a new deal at Bayern and it seems he could be one of the players the German giants fail to retain for next season. The German international admitted he still has a "fondness" for the Premier League and after nearly five years at Bayern, he may be inching closer to a return to English football.

Clement can relocate Diomande and unleash Rangers’ £19k-p/w "pitbull"

Glasgow Rangers will be looking to return to winning ways in the Premiership this afternoon, otherwise it will be another campaign without a league title.

The Boxing Day defeat to St Mirren means the Ibrox side now trails Celtic by a staggering 12 points, with over half the season still to be played.

Rangersmanager PhilippeClement

Philippe Clement is certainly a man under serious pressure and several of his starting XI let him down against the Buddies, most notably Nedim Bajrami.

Nedim Bajrami’s game in numbers vs St Mirren

The Albanian midfielder was deployed in his preferred position as a number ten on Thursday, but it’s fair to say his performance was a massive disappointment.

Throughout the first half, he completed just 11 passes, took 22 touches and won zero duels. Going forward, Bajrami failed to even register a shot at goal while failing to succeed with his only dribble attempt.

It was no surprise to see him subbed off after just 45 minutes as he was replaced by Danilo, who scored the club’s only goal of the evening.

Against Motherwell, the former Sassuolo midfielder must be dropped, and this could mean Mohamed Diomande is relocated to an attacking midfield role.

With this change, Nicolas Raskin will come back into the starting XI after dropping to the bench for the midweek clash, and it could be a change which works wonders for the Light Blues against the Steelmen.

Why Nico Raskin must be unleashed against Motherwell

With Diomande moving to a more advanced role this afternoon, there is a free space next to Connor Barron which Raskin could fill with ease, especially considering how impressive the Belgian has been over the previous few weeks.

Chalkboard

Football FanCast's Chalkboard series presents a tactical discussion from around the global game.

The £19k-per-week gem has emerged as one of Clement’s most consistent performers recently, cementing his place in the starting XI.

In the top flight this term, Raskin has averaged a 90% pass success rate along with winning 65% of his total duels and averaging 3.3 tackles per game. This tenacious side to his game is one of Raskin’s finest qualities and could come in handy against Well today.

A few years ago, journalist Bob Faesen lavished praise on the young player as he was making his breakthrough with Standard Liege, saying:

These qualities have shown through over the previous few months as the midfielder has finally broken into Clement’s starting XI and is delivering on his massive potential.

Slotting him in alongside Barron will allow the Ibrox side to dictate the play against Well, ensuring that the side will have control of the ball for the majority of the game.

Three points is all that matters, especially with an Old Firm clash coming up on January 2nd.

£36m star out injured, Nunez dropped: Liverpool predicted lineup v Spurs

It’s easy to look at last weekend’s Anfield draw against Fulham as two more points dropped in the Premier League, but Liverpool actually showed title-winning spirit to claw back from the maw of defeat.

Arne Slot’s men had been reduced to ten before 20 minutes had struck the clock, with Andy Robertson’s erratic lunge compounding the woes that had already been inflicted by Andreas Pereira’s opening strike.

Liverpool managerArneSlot

Goals from Cody Gakpo and Diogo Jota preserved the Reds’ 20-match-unbeaten run that has seen them assume control across domestic and continental fronts.

But Arsenal thrashed Crystal Palace on Saturday evening to increase the pressure on the Redmen, who know that dropped points for a third top-flight fixture on the trot would change the mood significantly at the top of the table – especially if Chelsea beat Everton.

How will Liverpool line up at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium? Slot’s sure to ring the changes after rotating for the midweek Carabao Cup victory at Southampton.

1

GK – Alisson Becker

Alisson Becker.

Caoimhin Kelleher stood between the sticks in the Carabao Cup but Alisson Becker is fit once again and will take the number one spot in the Premier League, as he did against Fulham last time out, making a string of excellent saves.

He’s simply the best and will be crucial against a free-scoring Tottenham team.

2

RB – Trent Alexander-Arnold

Liverpool's Trent Alexander-Arnold

Withdrawn at half-time at St. Mary’s, Trent Alexander-Arnold will of course look to influence Liverpool’s attacking play.

His celestial range of passing could prove too much for the hosts, carve them open and make them pay for daring to dream against the rampant Reds.

3

CB – Joe Gomez

Liverpool defender Joe Gomez

Joe Gomez is doing a decent job with the £36m Ibrahima Konate out of action, and Slot should opt to partner him with the skipper this afternoon, for Jarell Quansah lacks the authority that he demonstrated so prodigiously last year.

Given that the experienced England international was taken off with Alexander-Arnold at the interval on Wednesday, it seems clear that the plan is for him to start in north London, and having played at centre-back for the past three Premier League matches, he seems set to reprise his role.

4

CB – Virgil van Dijk

Virgil van Dijk for Liverpool

What is there to say about Virgil van Dijk? He’s really good. Really, really good. Expect Tottenham to fashion attacking corridors that sit decidedly away from his zone of operation.

5

LB – Andy Robertson

Liverpool defender Andy Robertson

Can he atone for last week’s mess in north London? Robertson seems to face detractors on a regular basis this season but it’s important to remember that he is a devoted servant to the Liverpool cause.

Moreover, he literally won the Man of the Match award a week and a half ago against Girona in the Champions League. He has what it takes to steer his side toward three points.

6

CM – Ryan Gravenberch

Liverpool midfielder Ryan Gravenberch

Liverpool’s deep-sitting midfielder has been nothing short of a revelation this season, producing masterful performances from number six after FSG failed to convince Martin Zubimendi to spearhead the project as Slot’s first big buy.

Ryan Gravenberch will be restive after sitting out against Southampton and might prove too much for Spurs’ midfield.

7

CM – Curtis Jones

Liverpool midfielder Curtis Jones celebrates

Curtis Jones was controversially sent off on this ground this season in what proved to be a disastrous and contemptuous affair for Jurgen Klopp’s side.

However, he’s been a quiet triumph over the past few months and may replace Alexis Mac Allister to bring a bit more control and progression to Liverpool’s centre.

8

RW – Mohamed Salah

Mohamed Salah warming up for Liverpool

Another to be given a rest a few days ago, Mohamed Salah’s mere presence will strike frissons of fear through Lilywhite fans, especially with Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven sidelined.

You get the feeling Luis Diaz might play out his football on Sunday with a certain vengeance, having seen a perfectly good goal wrongly chalked off down N17 last season.

And after years of anticipation and speculation, Mbappe was finally unveiled at the Santiago Bernabéu in the summer of 2024, marking the start of a new era both for him and for Los Blancos.

Celtic could sign dream Kyogo upgrade in swoop for "dangerous" £8m star

The January transfer window officially opened for business last week and Celtic could dip into the market to bolster their squad before next month’s deadline.

Despite the window only having been open for six days so far, plenty of players have already been linked with moves to Parkhead, and out of the club.

Out of favour central midfielder Odin Thiago Holm is reportedly closing in on a move to MLS side LAFC, whilst Dinamo Zagreb are interested in signing Greg Taylor on a permanent deal, as his current contract at the club is due to expire at the end of the season.

In terms of incoming deals, Celtic are reportedly working on a transfer to bring Scotland international Kieran Tierney back to Glasgow from Arsenal, whilst they are also interested in Sarpsborg winger Sondre Orjasaeter.

Chelsea central midfielder Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, who worked with Brendan Rodgers at Leicester City, has also been linked with a move to Scotland.

One position that may be of interest to the Hoops in this window, however, is centre-forward because Kyogo Furuhashi and Adam Idah have both struggled at times this season.

Celtic's striker woes

Neither of the club’s two senior striker options have really put down a marker and shown that they are the reliable, lethal, number nine to be the star man for Celtic.

Kyogo has started more Scottish Premiership matches (13) than Idah (seven) but his return in front of goal has been far from impressive this season, despite two goals against St Johnstone recently.

Idah has scored five goals and missed eight ‘big chances’ in 17 appearances in the division so far this term, and has only managed one goal and zero assists in his last 11 outings for the club in all competitions.

Kyogo has been given more opportunities to shine, with his 13 league starts, but the Ireland international has not done enough – particularly in the last 11 matches – to show that he deserves more game time.

Unfortunately, however, the Japanese forward has failed to deliver consistent quality at the top end of the pitch in the Premiership with his performances.

As you can see in the table above, Kyogo has been incredibly wasteful with the high-quality chances that have been created for him, and has failed to create a single ‘big chance’ for his teammates.

A return of eight goals and 15 ‘big chances’ missed shows that he has not made the most of the creativity of his teammates, and that Celtic could, potentially, benefit from bringing in another forward who can offer more quality than Kyogo and Idah in the final third.

With this in mind, Rodgers could find a dream upgrade on the Japan international by revisiting his interest in one of the club’s summer transfer targets.

Celtic's interest in Polish star

In the summer transfer window, Celtic were pursuing a deal to sign LAFC attacking midfielder Mateusz Bogusz to come in and bolster the manager’s options at the top end of the pitch.

The Scottish giants were reportedly in talks to strike a deal for the Polish star, who was valued at £8m by the MLS outfit, and made a bid in an attempt to secure his signature.

Unfortunately, however, that bid was not enough to get a deal over the line and the window passed by without the Hoops being able to reach an agreement with LAFC.

Former Leeds midfielder Mateusz Bogusz.

After the window, Bogusz admitted that he “knew” about Celtic’s interest but he was not prepared to comment further on it, as he was committed to seeing out the 2024 MLS campaign with LAFC.

At the time of that interview, in September, the Glasgow Times added that the Premiership champions could revisit their interest in the former Leeds United gem in January, as it is currently the off-season for MLS teams.

With this in mind, the Hoops should go back in for the £8m-rated forward because he has the potential to arrive at Parkhead as an upgrade on what they currently have at their disposal at the top end of the pitch.

Why Celtic should sign Mateusz Bogusz

The Scottish giants should swoop to bring the talented attacker to Paradise for a multitude of reasons, and the first of those reasons is his age.

At the age of 23, Celtic would be investing in a player who could either play for the club for the next ten years and provide consistent quality on the pitch to contribute to trophies or perform well for a season or two before being sold for a huge profit after they develop during their time in Glasgow.

Whereas, Kyogo turns 30 this month and there may not be much more development, or potential for his value to increase, for him to go through before the end of his Hoops career.

Bogusz has played in a variety of roles throughout his time in the MLS, on the right wing, as an attacking midfielder, as a centre-forward, and as a central midfielder, but it is the number nine position where Celtic could get the best out of him.

As aforementioned, Rodgers’ current strikers have struggled in front of goal this season and the LAFC star’s form in the MLS in 2024 suggests that he has the potential to come in as an upgrade on Kyogo as a finisher.

His 16 strikes came from an xG of just 9.20. Meanwhile, Kyogo has scored eight times from 11.46 xG in the Premiership this season, which illustrates the gulf in finishing quality between the two.

Bogusz, who was once described as a “dangerous” player by journalist Greg Beacham, also created nine ‘big chances’ for his teammates in the MLS, which suggests that he could do more to bring others into the game than the Japanese forward is currently doing.
